Dustin Dodd was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. He graduated from Clovis High School and attended California State University, Fresno where he majored in Psychology as well as Criminology with an emphasis in Law Enforcement. After four years, he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology - Law Enforcement and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He later attended California State University, Long Beach where he completed his Master's in Public Administration.
Dustin has worked in Law Enforcement as Police Officer since 2001. He has served as: a patrol officer, K9 handler, Detective, Explosive Breacher for SWAT, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Bomb Technician, Computer Forensic Analyst, Crime Scene Investigator, Field Training Officer and Supervisor.
Savage Justice, his debut novel, is a work of fiction inspired by true events he investigated with his K9 partner Kota. Kota's original name was Justice but training required a name change to one that was easier to use when giving commands. Dustin still serves his community to this day. Kota retired and spent several years patrolling Dustin's backyard. He was laid to rest on September 03, 2015.
